Audrey's Closet
Introduction
“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’” - Matthew 25:37-40, NIV
It's more than a closet.
Audrey’s Closet started as a dream decades ago. It became a vibrant ministry. Now, as it grows, we are dreaming again.
In our church building, we currently provide a “Clothing Giveaway” for families in need on a few Saturdays every season. We also started a community garden last summer, originally funded by OSU grants, which provides fresh vegetables to families that attend the clothing giveaways, as well as elderly and shut-in community members. The garden supplements our food pantry, which stays stocked through donations from church members, and is used frequently by community members in need — even when other local food pantries are low on supplies.

It's bigger than a building.
Recently, we have run out of room in our current church building to provide the clothing giveaway ministry in conjunction with the food pantry and garden.
To remedy this problem, our congregation has decided to undertake a project to build a new structure on church property. It will house our community service programs: the clothing giveaway, the food pantry, and the community garden.
We also will use the space as a soup kitchen, providing monthly meals for the hungry, as well as healthy lunches during the summer to Brook Park kids and their families who are currently on the free/reduced lunch program.

Our dream needs your support.
To achieve this goal, we need to raise $300,000 for the building, furniture, and appliances. We have worked diligently with the builder to create the least expensive building plan that still meets the community’s needs. Raising this much money is no easy task, especially in today’s economy. We hope to raise a significant amount from within the church and denomination. For the rest, we turn to area organizations, businesses, and people like you: our angels. Donate Now.
